After decades of sold out shows and international recognition, musician Gilberto Gil embarks on a new kind of world tour through the southern hemisphere. From Bahia, he travels to the land of the Aborigines of Australia and the townships of South Africa, ending in the Brazilian Amazon region. With the same passion, Gil continues the work he began as Brazil’s first black Minister of Culture – promoting the power of cultural diversity in a globalized world and sharing his vision for our future: a diverse, interconnected planet filled with hope, exchange… and of course music!

Three sold out theatres in Nyon, two sold out theatres in Paris. The five premieres of “Viramundo” were great success, including a standing ovation at the Cinéma des Cinéastes, which moves Gilberto Gil to tears.

“Viramundo” has its French premiere in two theatres in Paris, on April 23rd, in presence of Gilberto Gil and the team of the film. First screening will take place at the Brasilian Film Festival Jangada, Cinéma Arlequin, at 19h00. Then, at the Cinéma des Cinéastes, Rue de Clichy, at 20h00. [Lire la suite]

The world premiere of “Viramundo” in Nyon Film Festival was packed on Saturday, April 20. Two more screenings (packed as well) were added, one the same night and another one the day after. Enthousiastic crowd enjoyed the film, as well the presence of Gilberto Gil and Pierre-Yves Borgeaud (director) and Emmanuel Gétaz (producer). [Lire la suite]
